About Semarang Ambarawa Regency

Ambarawa has a lot of tourism potential. Because it is a highland area, it is not surprising that the cool air dominates Ambarawa and makes picnics in this area even more enjoyable. In the southeast of Ambarawa, there is a tourist attraction named Rawa Pening. This natural lake has become an icon of Ambarawa because it is famous for its water hyacinth.

As a city that is famous with the history of the struggle for independence, there are many Dutch heritages, which are now used as tourist attractions in Ambarawa. One of them is the Ambarawa Railway Museum, which is the first railway museum in Indonesia. The station, which was turned into a museum, was formerly known as Willem I Station because of its location that close to the Dutch heritage building, Fort Willem I. Along with the times, the steam locomotive was no longer used, so on 21 April 1978, the museum was officially opened for public.
