Combining spectacular mountain views with challenging tracks, on 7 September 2014 Bromo Marathon 2014 brought runners on an extraordinary journey to amazing beauty of Mount Bromo in East Java. The starting and ending lines for this event was in Tosari Village - in the heart of Tengger culture on the slopes of Mt. Bromo. Previously, this event had attracted 1,534 runners from 31 countries and recognized as one of the best running competitions in Asia.
More than just a race, Bromo Marathon is a community effort to support the advancement of education in rural areas Tengger, Indonesia. Bromo Marathon works together with various community members to build an event that aims to improve quality of education, health, and economic prosperity in many low-income and resource-poor communities in the region.
