Mandiri Jakarta Marathon 2015

The first Jakarta Marathon was promoted and organized by Inspiro, and consistently held on the last Sunday of October each year. The biggest highway race in Indonesia was attended by more than 15,000 runners who came from around 50 countries around the world, including the world's elite runners, such as Kenya, Ethiopia, England, Japan, France, and Australia.

Every year, the Jakarta Marathon start/finish line has always been located in Jakarta’s iconic landmarks, such as National Monument/Monas and in the largest sports complex in Indonesia, Gelora Bung Karno, with five (5) categories including; Marathon (42,195KM), Half Marathon (21KM), 10K (10KM), 5K (5KM) and Maratoonz (children’s sprint).

Despite various challenges, the Jakarta Marathon is a very potential event in promoting the sports tourism in the Indonesian capital. The marathon category running route was deliberately designed so that runners pass through the historic icons of Jakarta, such as Kota Tua, Pasar Baru, Jakarta Cathedral Church, Istiqlal Mosque, Pak Tani Statue and GBK Stadium.
